David V. Griffin is a freelance writer with a focus on dark fantasy fiction, film criticism and architectural history. Since 1988 he has contributed reviews and criticism to the New York Review of Science Fiction and other genre publications; from 1986 through 1993 he edited Carnage Hall Magazine, which featured writing by and interviews with Margaret Atwood, Pauline Kael, S.T. Joshi, Thomas Ligotti and others. His short fiction has appeared in two anthologies edited by D.F. Lewis and his writing has appeared in Dwell, Brownstoner, Metropolis and the National Trust’s Historic Preservation Magazine, among other titles. A Vassar alum, he is former literary chair of the Montauk Club.
